Shuqi Road Introduction
Shuqi Road, located in Ruifang District of New Taipei City, is a vertical street in the Jiufen area, entirely built of stone steps. Strolling along Shuqi Road, visitors can enjoy a distant view of the mountain town settlement, with many unique tea houses and the Shengping Theater lining the path. The street is flanked by red brick and wooden buildings that evoke a nostalgic atmosphere from the 1940s and 1950s. In the evening, the red lanterns hanging along the street illuminate, creating a simple and tranquil ambiance, resembling a time tunnel back to the past. This special "Feng" shaped road serves as Jiufen's vertical pathway, consisting of over 300 stone steps, with many scenic tea houses situated along the street. There is also a viewing platform at the old entrance (Jishan Street) where visitors can admire the continuous view of the northern coast from Jiufen, and at the intersection of Shuqi Road and Qingping Road, one can see one of Jiufen's famous landmarks, the Shengping Theater.
