Shuqi Road Introduction
Shuqixi Road, located in Ruifang District, New Taipei City, is a vertical road in the Jiufen area, entirely constructed with stone steps. Strolling along Shuqixi Road allows you to enjoy a distant view of the mountainous village. Many unique tea houses and the Shengping Theater are located along this road, flanked by red brick and wooden buildings that evoke nostalgic charm from the 1950s and 1960s. At night, the red lanterns hanging along the street illuminate the area, creating a simple and tranquil atmosphere, reminiscent of a time tunnel back to the past. It is a special "Feng" shaped road, serving as an ascending pathway with over 300 stone steps. Many scenic tea houses are situated along this street. There is also a viewing platform at the Old Road Mouth (Jishan Street Entrance) where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the northern coast from Jiufen. At the intersection of Shuqixi Road and Qingben Road, you can see one of Jiufen's famous buildings, the Shengping Theater.
