Shuqi Road Introduction
Shuqi Road, located in Ruifang District, New Taipei City, is a vertical road in the Jiufen area, entirely built from stone steps. Strolling along Shuqi Road also provides a distant view of the mountain town settlement. Many unique tea houses and the Shengping Theater are located along this road, with red brick and wooden buildings lining both sides, evoking a nostalgic atmosphere from the 1940s and 1950s. At night, the red lanterns hanging along the street light up, enveloping the area in a simple and tranquil ambiance, resembling a tunnel back in time. This is a unique "Feng" shaped road, serving as the vertical roadway in Jiufen, consisting of over 300 stone steps. Numerous scenic tea houses are located along this street, and there is a viewing platform at the old trail entrance (near Jishan Street) where visitors can enjoy the sprawling views of the northern coastline. At the intersection of Shuqi Road and Qingtong Road, one can find one of Jiufen's famous buildings, the Shengping Theater.
