Shuqi Road Introduction
Shuqi Road, located in Ruifang District, New Taipei City, is a vertical road in the Jiufen area, entirely constructed from stone steps. Strolling along Shuqi Road offers a distant view of the mountain city settlement, and many characteristic tea houses and the Shengping Theater are also located along this road. The left and right sides are lined with red brick and wooden buildings, evoking a nostalgic charm from the 40s and 50s. In the evening, the red lanterns hanging along the street light up, creating a pure and tranquil atmosphere, resembling a time tunnel back to the past. It is a unique "Feng" shaped road, serving as the main vertical pathway in Jiufen, consisting of over 300 stone steps, with many scenic tea houses situated along this street. There is also a viewing platform at the old street entrance (near Jishan Street) where one can enjoy the continuous views of the Northern Coast from Jiufen. At the intersection of Shuqi Road and Qingbian Road, one can see the Shengping Theater, one of the famous buildings in Jiufen.
