Shuqi Road Introduction
Shuqi Road, located in Ruifang District, New Taipei City, is a vertical road in the Jiufen area, entirely made up of stone steps. Strolling along Shuqi Road, visitors can enjoy a distant view of the mountain town settlement, with many distinctive tea houses and the Shengping Theater lining the sides. The area is surrounded by red brick and wooden buildings, evoking a nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of the 1940s and 1950s. At night, the red lanterns hanging along the street illuminate the surroundings, creating a pure and tranquil ambiance, almost like a time tunnel back to the past. This unique "Feng" character road serves as the main vertical pathway in Jiufen, consisting of over 300 stone steps. Numerous scenic tea houses can be found along this street, and a viewing platform is also located at the old road entrance (Jishan Street entrance) where visitors can admire the sweeping coastline of the north from Jiufen. At the intersection of Shuqi Road and Qingbian Road, one can see the famous Shengping Theater, one of Jiufen's notable buildings.
