Liulang Boulevard Trail Introduction
The Liulang Road Scenic Trail, located in Ruifang District, New Taipei City, is one of the routes of the Danshui-Lan Ancient Trail. The entrance is next to Parking Lot No. 9. The name "Liulang" is derived from a homophone of "liulong" (流籠), which refers to a traditional transportation method in the area. This scenic trail is a renovated path based on the ancient path that the mountain residents used to take when descending to buy supplies. In earlier times, mining and transporting materials utilized a liulong track to navigate steep sections of the terrain that were difficult for manual labor. This trail, refurbished from the old liulong road, was created by our ancestors as a route to descend from the mountains for purchasing goods. In its heyday, Jiufen Mine was also a mining site, but it fell into decline due to low productivity. However, after the trails were refurbished, the experience for visitors is distinctly refreshing. At the summit, two observation decks offer stunning views of Keelung, Ruifang Mountain City, and the coastline, providing open and beautiful vistas.
