Xiaozi Mountain Trail Introduction
Xiaozi Mountain, located between Jing Tong Station and Pingxi Station on the Pingxi Branch Line, is actually the name of a trail system that includes several independent peaks, such as Xiaozi Mountain, Cimu Peak, Putuo Mountain, Ci'en Ridge, and Zhongyang Jianshan. Although the mountains here are not as high as others, their steep rock formations are quite remarkable. The most thrilling part of climbing Xiaozi Mountain is the final section, which features a suspended steel ladder leading to the summit. If you successfully ascend this nearly vertical rock face, you will be rewarded with a panoramic view of the entire Keelung River Valley. Surrounded by numerous peaks, which collectively number over 20, this area is referred to as the "Twenty-four Filial Piety Mountains." Due to its resemblance to the Huangshan Mountains in mainland China, Xiaozi Mountain is also known as the "Little Huangshan."
