Xiaozi Mountain Trail Introduction
Xiaozi Mountain, located between Jing Tong Station and Pingxi Station on the Pingxi Line, is actually a collective term for a trail system that includes several independent peaks such as Xiaozi Mountain, Cimu Peak, Putuo Mountain, Cien Ridge, and Central Peak. Although the elevation is not as high as other mountains, its steep rock formations are not to be overlooked. The most thrilling segment of the ascent to Xiaozi Mountain is the final stretch, where climbers must navigate a suspended metal ladder to reach the summit. If successful in scaling this nearly vertical rock face, climbers are rewarded with a panoramic view of the Jilong River valley. Surrounded by numerous peaks, totaling over 20, it is referred to as the Twenty-Four Filial Piety Mountains. Due to its resemblance to Huangshan in mainland China, Xiaozi Mountain is also nicknamed “Little Huangshan.”
