Xiaozi Mountain Trail Introduction
Located between Jing Tong Station and Pingxi Station on the Pingxi branch line, Mount Hsiaozi is actually a collective term for a trail system that includes several independent peaks, such as Mount Hsiaozi, Mother Peak, Putuo Mountain, Cien Ridge, and Central Point. Although its elevation is not as high as other mountains, its steep stone peaks are not to be overlooked. The most thrilling part of climbing Mount Hsiaozi is the final segment of the ascent, which involves a suspended steel ladder. However, if you successfully climb this nearly vertical rock face, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire Keelung River valley from the summit. Surrounded by numerous peaks, there are over 20 mountains in total, which is why it is referred to as the "Twenty-Four Filial Piety Mountains." Additionally, due to its resemblance to Huangshan in mainland China, Mount Hsiaozi is also known as "Little Huangshan."
