Jingtong Station Introduction
As the final stop on the Pingxi Line, Jingtong is quieter compared to the bustling Shifen and Pingxi. The Japanese wooden Jingtong Station, located next to the old street, exudes a strong sense of nostalgia, becoming a filming location for advertisements and movies, as well as attracting many domestic and international travelers for photos. Upon arriving on the swaying train, visitors are greeted by the Jingtong Station built in 1929, which was designated as a historic site in 2003. This station was once an important facility for transporting coal, and directly across from it remains a valuable mining relic—the coal washing plant. Today, the towering coal washing plant has been transformed into a café. While here, it's a good idea to enjoy a cup of coffee and reflect on Jingtong's mining history, take a stroll to the world's only sky lantern-shaped "Jingtong Electronic Sky Lantern Museum," and visit the "Railway Story Museum," which is a must for train enthusiasts. Don’t forget to write a wish on a bamboo tube, leaving a trace of your travels in Jingtong.
