Ching Tung Railway Story House Introduction
Located on Jingtong Old Street, the "Jingtong Railway Story Museum" is run by He Yuanfu, who is a railway enthusiast himself. After negotiating with Taiwan Railways, he opened this quaint railway museum at the last stop of the Pingxi Line, Jingtong Station. The Jingtong Railway Story Museum features a two-story wooden building designed to resemble the style of the 1960s in Taiwan, intentionally creating a nostalgic atmosphere that evokes beautiful memories of the past. Here, visitors can find various nostalgic souvenirs including toy trains shaped like train carriages, traditional rice dumplings, wooden postcards, and retro train tickets, all centered around the themes of railways and coal mining. The mailbox at the entrance and the large railway service staff figurine are must-photograph spots for tourists. The store has also thoughtfully provided a bench for visitors to comfortably take photos.
