Jing Tong Railway Story House Introduction
The "Jingtong Railway Story Museum," located on Jingtong Old Street, is run by He Yuanfu, a railway enthusiast. After negotiating with Taiwan Railways, he opened a quaint railway story museum at Jingtong Station, the last stop on the Pingxi Branch Line. The museum features a two-story wooden house built in the style of the 1960s, deliberately designed to evoke a strong sense of nostalgia, selling beautiful memories of the past. Here, you can find various nostalgic products, including toy trains shaped like railway carriages, Taitung baby dolls, wooden postcards, and old-style train tickets, all themed around railways and coal mining, making the perfect souvenirs to commemorate your visit. The mailbox at the entrance and a large railway service staff figurine are must-take photo spots for visitors, and the owner has kindly provided a bench for everyone to take pictures.
