Bu Yan Pavilion Introduction
Bùyàn Pavilion is located near the intersection of the Shuangxi and Jiufen areas along the Taiwan Highway 102. It was named by Mr. Jian Huaxiang, the former township head of Shuangxi, after a line from a poem by Li Bai, meaning "looking at each other without getting tired." One side offers a view of the beautiful scenery of Shuangxi District, while the other side provides a distant view of Ruifang, and on clear days, one can even see the faraway blue sea. At certain times, sea of clouds can also be seen, making its scenic quality truly deserving of the name "Bùyàn Pavilion." Shuangxi is rich in natural beauty and talent, featuring a mountain that resembles a connected handle and blade, known locally as "Knife Hill." If one looks carefully into the distance, there is also Bat Mountain near Shuangxi Elementary School, which looks like a bat spreading its wings. Additionally, one of the famous Eight Scenic Spots, "Chenshan Spring Colors," can be found at Sandiao Ridge, standing a bit farther away. Further still, on the ridge towards Keelung, there is a small pavilion on the famous Dadu Beauty Mountain. Interestingly, this happens to be the endpoint of the Shuangxi section of Highway 102, and just a few steps further is the boundary of Jiufen. All these exceptional views can only be seen from Bùyàn Pavilion.
