Búyàn Pavilion Introduction
Buyan Pavilion is located near the junction of Shuangxi and Jiufen along Taiwan Provincial Highway 102. It was named by the former Shuangxi Township Chief, Jian Huaxiang, derived from the line "Looking at each other without weariness" from a poem by Li Bai. From one side, it offers a view of the entire Shuangxi District, and from the other, a distant look at Ruifang. On clear days, one can even see the distant blue sea, and at certain times, a sea of clouds can also be observed. The scenery is beautiful, living up to the name "Buyan Pavilion." The area of Shuangxi is known for its scenic beauty and gifted people, featuring a mountain resembling a connected knife handle and blade, locally called "Cai Dao Lun." If one looks carefully into the distance near Shuangxi Elementary School, there is also a Bat Mountain, shaped like a bat with its wings spread. Additionally, one of the famous Eight Scenic Views, "Diao Mountain Spring Scenery," can be found at nearby Sandiao Ridge. Further away, on the ridgelines towards Keelung, a small pavilion can be seen on the famous Dadu Beauties Mountain. Interestingly, this spot also happens to be the end point of the Shuangxi section of Highway 102, and just a few steps further lies the boundary of Jiufen. All these exceptional views can only be seen from Buyan Pavilion.
