Hou-Cuo Fishing Harbor is located next to the Danjin Highway and is currently the only fishing harbor in Sanjhih District. Although it is not as crowded as Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf, it offers a more authentic experience of a traditional fishing village. The harbor has enhanced its functionality through the city government's "Fishing Gear Warehouse Construction Project." While maintaining traditional fishing practices, the old containers have been removed, and 20 new reinforced concrete fishing gear warehouses have been built for fishermen's use, equipped with manual rolling doors and translucent glass bricks to allow natural light in. The port area also features smart shore power and water facilities, as well as a temporary collection area for marine waste recycling, promoting the economic cycle of resource reuse and enhancing the harbor's overall sustainability. Additionally, a painting team has creatively integrated youth marine-themed patterns into the exterior of the warehouses using hand-painted techniques, transforming the traditional warehouse appearance. This makes the fishing gear warehouses not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing, enhancing the overall visual appeal of the harbor and adding a new diversified image to the fishing port.
