Fanpo Lin Tourist Flower Garden Introduction
During the Jiaqing period, Xibanli was a settlement of the Pingpu people, where men often went out hunting, leaving mostly women in the village, which led to the name "Fanbaling." In the Fanbaling Scenic Garden, flowers bloom throughout the year. From December to May, the tiny, pure, and innocent yellow orchids quietly blossom, exuding a sweet fragrance; from April to June, the water lilies, known as love flowers, bloom in purple and white, adding to the beauty and making them perfect for potted appreciation. The garden predominantly features calla lilies, with not only the common white varieties that exude an elegant charm but also yellow, lavender, pink, and dark red varieties blooming freely. The garden is filled with various colors of strawflowers, including yellow, orange, red, pink, peach, white, and pale yellow. Their petal texture is akin to paper, making them suitable for pressed flowers or dried arrangements, and they have a long blooming period, earning the nickname "everlasting flowers." Visitors can pick different flower buds and, guided by the farm staff, create their own bouquets using wire, which can last for at least a year, resembling real artificial flowers. Additionally, the farm grows various organic vegetables, providing a feast for the taste buds, with the yam dumplings being particularly recommended. The farm also offers a variety of DIY activities suitable for families and groups, and prior reservations are required. While walking through the farm, visitors can also play in the nearby stream or catch mudfish in the pond, and sometimes see flocks of white egrets, giving a nostalgic illusion of returning to Taiwan's early agricultural society.
