Fanpo Lin Tourist Flower Garden Introduction
During the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, Xibanli was a settlement of the Pingpu tribe, where men often went hunting and most of the villagers were women, giving rise to the name "Fanbolin" for the area. In the Fanbolin Scenic Flower Garden, flowers bloom year-round. From December to May, the pure and innocent Daffodil quietly blossoms with bright yellow color and sweet fragrance. From April to June, the water lily, known for its association with love, shows off its stunning purple and white hues, making it suitable for pot cultivation. The garden primarily features calla lilies, including the common white calla lily, which captures hearts with its elegant charm, along with a variety of colors including yellow, lavender, pink, and deep red, all blooming beautifully. The garden is filled with a variety of colors of strawflowers in yellow, orange, red, pink, peach, white, and pale yellow; the petals have a paper-like texture, making them ideal for pressed flowers or dried flower arrangements, and they also have a long blooming period and are known as "everlasting flowers." Here, visitors can pick various flower buds and, with guidance from farm staff, create their own bouquets using wire to take home, which can last for at least a year, resembling "real" artificial flowers. Additionally, the farm grows various organic vegetables that are delicious. The yam soup dumplings are particularly recommended. The farm also offers a variety of DIY activities suitable for families and groups, and it’s important to make a reservation by phone in advance. Walking around the farm, visitors can also play in the nearby stream or catch loaches in the ponds within the garden, and occasionally see flocks of egrets, evoking a sense of returning to the early agricultural society of Taiwan.
