Fanpo Lin Tourist Flower Garden Introduction
During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Xibanli was a settlement of the Pingpu people, where men often went hunting, leaving mostly women in the village, hence the name "Fanbōlin." In the Fanbōlin Tourist Flower Garden, flowers bloom all year round. From December to May, the place is home to the pure and innocent yellow lily, which quietly blossoms with a bright yellow color and sweet fragrance. From April to June, the garden features the love flower, the daylily, in purple and white, which are quite stunning and suitable for pot cultivation. The predominant flower type is calla lily, comprising not only the common white ones but also various colors such as yellow, lavender, pink, and deep red, blooming in abundance. The garden is filled with various colors of strawflowers—yellow, orange, red, pink, peach, white, and light yellow—whose petals are paper-like, making them ideal for pressed flower or dried flower crafts, boasting a long blooming period and often referred to as "everlasting flowers." Here, visitors can freely pick various flower buds and, with the guidance of the farm staff, can create DIY bouquets using wire to take home, with the flowers lasting at least a year, resembling "real" artificial flowers. Additionally, the farm cultivates a variety of organic vegetables for a delightful feast. The yam soup dumplings are highly recommended. The farm also offers various DIY activities suitable for families and groups; be sure to make a reservation in advance by phone. While walking through the farm, visitors can enjoy playing in the nearby stream or catching loaches in the garden's ponds, and sometimes large groups of white egrets can be seen, evoking a sense of returning to the early agricultural society of Taiwan.
