Zhi Lan Park Seaside Viewing Platform Introduction
Situated at kilometer 16 of Route 2, along the Danzhin Highway, the Zhilan Park Sea Viewing Platform is located next to the Shuangwan Bicycle Path in Sanzhi District. Originally built in 1992, it featured a two-layer structure with a base and a platform, standing about 3 meters high. The platform connected to the adjacent park trail and the shallow bay beach, making it a popular summer leisure spot on the North Coast of Taiwan and one of the locations for wedding photography. However, due to long-term erosion, it was dismantled in 2015. In recent years, a professional team evaluated the site and prioritized durability and safety for reconstruction while preserving the foundation of the sea platform. With cooperation from central and local governments, local artist Hu Dongming from Sanzhi and environmental aesthetic consultant Chen Junliang collaborated to design an approximately 3-meter high and 43-meter long romantic concept international sunset platform that allows visitors to stroll along the beautiful platform while enjoying the stunning sunset views of the North Coast in the gentle sea breeze.
