Zhilan Park Seaview Platform Introduction
Located at the 16-kilometer mark of Taiwan Highway 2, beside the Shuangwan Bicycle Path in San Zhi District, the Jilan Park Sea Viewing Platform was originally built in 1992. It features a two-layer structure with a base and platform, standing about 3 meters high. The platform connects to adjacent park trails and shallower bay beaches, making it a popular summer leisure destination on the northern coast and a site for wedding photo shoots. However, due to long-term erosion, it was dismantled in 2015. In recent years, following assessments by a professional team with a focus on durability and safety, the original site was rebuilt while preserving the sea platform's base. With collaboration from central and local authorities, local artist Hu Dongmin from San Zhi and environmental aesthetic consultant Chen Junliang were invited to design a romantic, international-level sunset sea extension platform, standing approximately 3 meters high and extending about 43 meters long. This allows visitors to stroll on the beautiful platform under the gentle sea breeze while enjoying the stunning sunset views of the northern coast.
