Zhilan Park Seaside Viewing Platform Introduction
Located at the 16-kilometer mark of the Taiwan Route 2 on the Danjin Highway, the Zhi Lan Park Ocean Viewing Platform is beside the Shuangwan Bicycle Path in Sanjhih District. Originally constructed in 1992, the platform has a dual structure with a base and deck, standing approximately 3 meters high. It connects to the park's walking path and Shallow Bay beach, serving as a popular summer leisure destination and a location for wedding photo shoots along the northern coast. However, due to long-term erosion, it was demolished in 2015. In recent years, after evaluation by a professional team, considerations for durability and safety were prioritized for reconstruction on the original site, preserving the base of the ocean platform. In collaboration with both central and local authorities, local artist Hu Dongmin from Sanjhih and environmental aesthetic consultant Chen Junliang were invited to design an international-grade romantic sunset ocean platform, approximately 3 meters high and 43 meters long, allowing visitors to stroll on the beautiful deck under the gentle sea breeze while enjoying the stunning evening hues of the northern coast.
