Chih Lan Park Sea View Platform Introduction
Located at kilometer 16 of the Danjin Highway (Taiwan Route 2) in the Sanzhi District, beside the Shuangwan Bicycle Path, the Zhilang Park Seaview Platform was originally built in 1992. It features a dual-layer structure with a foundation and platform, standing about 3 meters high. The platform connects to the adjacent park's walking path and the Shallow Water Bay beach, making it a former summer leisure destination on the North Coast and a popular spot for wedding photography. However, due to long-term coastal erosion, it was dismantled in 2015. In recent years, after assessment by a professional team, a focus on durability and safety was prioritized for reconstruction, while retaining the original base of the seaview platform. With cooperation from both the central and local governments, local artist Hu Dong-min of Sanzhi and environmental aesthetics consultant Chen Jun-liang were invited to collaborate on the design. They created an international-level sunset seaview platform approximately 3 meters high and 43 meters long, featuring a romantic theme, allowing visitors to stroll along the beautiful platform under the gentle sea breeze and admire the stunning sunset views of the North Coast.
