Zhilan Park Seaside Observation Deck Introduction

Situated at the 16-kilometer mark of the Danjin Highway (State Route 2) beside the Shuangwan Bicycle Path in Sanzhi District, the Zhi Lan Park Seaside Viewing Platform was originally built in 1992. It features a dual-layer structure with a base and platform, standing about 3 meters high. The platform connects to the adjacent park trail and the Shallow Water Bay beach, serving as a popular summer leisure spot on the northern coast and a location for wedding photography in the past. However, it was dismantled in 2015 due to long-term erosion. In recent years, after an assessment by a professional team, a reconstruction was prioritized with a focus on durability and safety while preserving the original platform's base. In collaboration with both central and local authorities, local artist Hu Dongmin and environmental aesthetics consultant Chen Junliang were invited to design an international-grade sunset seaside extension platform, approximately 3 meters high and 43 meters long, creating a romantic space for visitors to stroll on the beautiful platform and enjoy the stunning evening glow of the northern coast while feeling the gentle sea breeze.
