Zhi Lan Park Seaside Viewing Platform Introduction
Located at the 16-kilometer mark of the Taiwan Route 2 Danjin Highway, the Zhilan Park Seaside Viewing Platform, adjacent to the Shuangwan Bicycle Path in Sanjhih District, was originally built in 1992. It features a dual-layer structure with a base and platform, standing about 3 meters high. The platform connects to the nearby park trails and Shallow Water Bay Beach, making it a popular summer leisure destination along the North Coast and a favored spot for wedding photography in the past. However, due to long-term coastal erosion, it was dismantled in 2015. In recent years, after an evaluation by a professional team, the focus was placed on durability and safety for the reconstruction on the original site while retaining the platform's base. In collaboration with local artists, such as Hu Dongmin from Sanjhih, and environmental aesthetics consultant Chen Junliang, an innovative design was created, resulting in an approximately 3-meter high and 43-meter long platform of romantic imagery. This international-level seaside viewing platform allows visitors to stroll beautifully along the platform while enjoying the stunning sunset views of the North Coast in the gentle sea breeze.
