Zhilan Park Seaside Observation Platform Introduction

Located 16 kilometers along Taiwan Route 2 on the Danjin Highway, the Zhilan Park Seaside Viewing Platform beside the Shuangwan Bicycle Path in Sanzhi District was originally built in 1992. It features a dual-layer structure with a foundation and platform, standing about 3 meters high. The platform connects to the adjacent park trail and the Shallow Water Bay beach, making it a popular summer leisure spot in the past along the North Coast, as well as one of the scenic spots for wedding photography. However, due to long-term erosion by the sea, it was dismantled in 2015. In recent years, after assessment by a professional team, durability and safety were prioritized for reconstruction on the original site, retaining the base of the seaside platform. Collaborating with local artist Hu Dongming and environmental aesthetics consultant Chen Junliang, the project was designed to create an international-level seaside viewing platform approximately 3 meters high and 43 meters long, evokes romantic imagery, allowing visitors to stroll along the beautiful platform while enjoying the stunning sunset views of the North Coast in the gentle sea breeze.
