Wuliaojian Mountain Trail Introduction
Wuliaojian, located in the Sanxia District of New Taipei City, has an altitude of 639 meters. Wuliaojian is also known as Couhe Mountain or Fengji Jianshan, named for its mountain shape resembling five fist-like rock peaks that rise and fall. It is one of the three major climbing areas in northern Taiwan, alongside Bijiashan and Huangdidian. The climbing process offers a high sense of stimulation, with various common terrain obstacles encountered along the way. Climbing Wuliaojian often requires using ropes and rock climbing techniques to reach the summit. One section, known as the Cliff of Heroic Peaks, features a steep drop of about 30 meters, with an incline of 70 to 80 degrees. The cliff is approximately 30 meters long, with no vegetation growing on the walls, and both sides plunge into a deep abyss, necessitating careful navigation. The view from the summit is expansive, allowing for distant views of Sanxia, Yingge, and Shulin.
