Wuliaojian Trail Introduction
Wuliaojian, located in the Sanxia District of New Taipei City, has an elevation of 639 meters. Wuliaojian is also known as Couhe Mountain or Fengji Peak, named for its shape resembling five rocky peaks that rise like fists. It is one of the three major crags in northern Taiwan, alongside Bijiashan and Huangdidian. The climbing process offers a thrilling sensory experience, and various common mountainous terrain obstacles can be encountered at Wuliaojian. Along the climb, rope pulling and rock climbing are often necessary to reach the summit. One section, known as the Cliff Peak Segment, features a steep cliff with an incline of seventy to eighty degrees and a depth of over thirty meters. The cliff is about 30 meters long, with no vegetation growing on the walls, and both sides drop into a sheer abyss, requiring careful and cautious walking. The view from the summit is expansive, allowing for a distant view of Sanxia, Yingge, and Shulin.
