Daxi Old Tea Factory Introduction
Visit the Daxi Old Tea Factory and leisurely embark on a journey called "Tea Tasting Time." Established in 1926 by the Japanese, the Jiao Ban Shan Factory is the predecessor of the Daxi Tea Factory, marking the beginning of a glorious history of tea production in Daxi and essentially making it the "New Tea Golden Aristocracy" of the time. However, a fire in 1956 almost completely destroyed the factory. It wasn't until 2010 that Taiwan Forestry and Logging Co., Ltd. began reconstruction, bringing back the long-hidden elegance of tea culture with a blend of old and new. The exterior of the Daxi Old Tea Factory is modeled after the tea factories in Darjeeling, India, while the interior space is a mix of Taiwanese and Japanese influences, showcasing a rich multicultural atmosphere. The predominant color of the building is blue, which harmonizes with the structure of the brick and mixed cypress wood tea factory, featuring blue tones in the window grills, beams, shelf designs, walls, and artworks, perfectly complementing the tranquil beauty and antique tea-making equipment that whisper the Zen-like essence of tea discussions. As you savor the fragrance of tea and the richness of culture, every corner of the tea factory captivates the senses. Stroll by the quiet water pool to experience a moment of silence away from the city; admire the Pu-erh tea wall composed of over a hundred tea bricks, tasting the aroma of time with every sip; relax in the reading area, losing track of time in the world of literature; sit with friends in the tea library, enjoying tea and casual conversations; and don’t forget to unleash your creativity in the doodle book to leave behind a beautiful note of this little journey. Embracing nature is the unchanging operational principle of the Daxi Old Tea Factory, with no pesticide additives in the production process, advocating for safe and organic food; all products are SGS certified. Monthly reservations are open for a self-service buffet featuring 15 seasonal local dishes paired with tea aromas, offering pure taste and refreshing flavors, allowing travelers to enjoy the elegance of tea. There is also a daily offered set menu for a simple yet unforgettable experience of food and drink culture.
