Beyiyi Highway Introduction
The North-Yi Highway is a road located in northern Taiwan, connecting Taipei and Yilan, with a total length of 58 kilometers. After descending from Jinmian Mountain in Toucheng Township, Yilan County, it reaches the Lanyang Plain, where it intersects with Qingyun Road (Taiwan Route 2 Geng) in Toucheng Township, marking the endpoint (at the 70K point of Taiwan Route 9). The route passes through New Taipei City's Xindian District, Shiding District, Pinglin District, and Toucheng Township in Yilan County. The Shiding section of the North-Yi Highway is a challenging mountain biking route. Cyclists leave from Bitan in Xindian and turn left onto the North-Yi Highway (Taiwan Route 9), then connect to North 47 or North 47-1 to Shiding, joining County Road 106乙 all the way to Shenkeng. The route involves frequent ups and downs, thoroughly testing the rider's strength and endurance. However, the scenery along the way is quite beautiful, especially in March when the mountains are adorned with blooming pink mountain cherry blossoms. When the wind blows, the petals fall, creating a refreshing sight. There are no bike rental stations along this route, so riders need to bring their own bicycles.
