Shideding North-Yi Highway Introduction
The North-Yi Highway is a road located in northern Taiwan, connecting Taipei and Yilan, with a length of 58 kilometers. It reaches the Lanyang Plain after descending from Jinmian Mountain in Toucheng Township, Yilan County, intersecting with Qingyun Road (Provincial Highway 2 Geng Route) in Toucheng Township at its endpoint (at kilometer 70 of Provincial Highway 9), passing through Xindian District, Shiding District, and Pinglin District in New Taipei City, as well as Toucheng Township in Yilan County. The Shiding segment of the North-Yi Highway is a mountain biking challenge route, starting from Bitan in Xindian and following the North-Yi Highway (Provincial Highway 9) with a left turn to connect to North 47 or North 47-1, continuing to Shiding and then taking Line 106 B to Shuangxi and Line 106 all the way to ShenKeng. The route features frequent ups and downs, fully challenging the riders' physical strength and endurance. However, the scenery along the way is quite beautiful, especially in March when the mountains are adorned with blooming mountain cherry blossoms, creating a vibrant scene with petals falling in the breeze, uplifting the spirit of those who see it. There are no bicycle rental stations along this route, so cyclists need to bring their own bicycles.
