Boai Art Street Introduction
Located in Yonghe District, New Taipei City, Bo'ai Street was initiated by several retired teachers who had high hopes for community building through the establishment of the New Taipei City Yonghe Arts Education Development Association. The aim was to integrate art into everyday life and bring it to the neighborhood. This 500-meter-long Bo'ai Art Street has increasingly rich cultural vibes, transformed into an artistic street through a special street design plan. The best urban art should not just stay in museums; rather, it should be brought to the streets or allow the streets to become art. A specially paved pedestrian walkway extends from Yonghe Road all the way to the end of the street at the Zhuangjing High School, Yonghe Branch, featuring its gray-red roof tiles and white walls adorned with artistic carved arches and window trims. Along the walls, there are over 20 large reproductions of paintings by local artist Yang Sanlang. His art museum quietly sits in the middle of the street, allowing visitors to stroll along the beautiful, shaded Flamboyant tree path and enter the museum to appreciate its rich collection of artworks. In the tranquil alleys, many small surprises await your discovery.
