Shuangxi Station Introduction
Shuangxi Station, located in Shuangxi District, New Taipei City, was formerly known as "Ding Shuangxi Station." It has two island platforms and was originally a wooden station situated at an elevation of approximately 35 meters above sea level. With the development of coal mining, the number of passengers increased daily, and the freight business grew, leading to the decision to reconstruct it into a concrete station. The platforms and embankment of Shuangxi Station are relatively high, and the section between Shuangxi Station and Mudan Station is referred to by rail enthusiasts as "Mudan Slope," with a gradient of 1:16. In the narrow area between Shuangxi Station and the banks of the Mudan River, a street has developed that is distinct from the old street due to its convenient transportation, making it the busiest area in present-day Shuangxi. It is only about 100 meters from the station to the riverside, where one can see the unique architectural styles characteristic of the northeastern mountainous region.
