Shuangxi Station Introduction
Shuangxi Station, located in Shuangxi District of New Taipei City, was formerly known as "Ding Shuangxi Station." It has two island platforms and was originally a wooden station at an elevation of about 35 meters above sea level. With the development of coal mining, the number of passengers increased day by day, and both passenger and freight operations grew significantly, leading to its reconstruction as a cement station to meet operational demands. The platforms and trackbed of Shuangxi Station are relatively high, and the section between Shuangxi and Mudan Stations features a steep slope with a gradient of 1:16, referred to by railway enthusiasts as "Mudan Slope." In the narrow area from Shuangxi Station to the banks of Mudan River, a different urban development emerged due to the convenience of transportation, making it the busiest place in modern Shuangxi. It is only about 100 meters from the station to the riverside, where one can see the unique architectural styles characteristic of the northeastern mountainous region.
