Shuangxi Station Introduction
Shuangxi Station, located in Shuangxi District, New Taipei City, was originally known as "Dingshuangxi Station". It has two island platforms and was initially a wooden station elevated about 35 meters above sea level. Due to the prosperous coal mining industry, the number of passengers increased daily, leading to growth in both passenger and freight services. As a result, it was rebuilt into a concrete station building. The platforms and embankment at Shuangxi Station are relatively high, and the segment between Shuangxi and Mudan Station features a steep gradient of 16‰, referred to as the "Mudan Slope" by railway enthusiasts. In the narrow area from Shuangxi Station to the banks of Mudan River, a bustling town developed, distinct from the old street, due to the convenient transportation. It is only about 100 meters from the station to the riverside, where one can see unique architectural styles typical of the northeastern mountainous region.
