Shuangxi Station Introduction
Shuangxi Station, located in Shuangxi District, New Taipei City, was originally known as "Ding Shuangxi Station." It has two island platforms and was initially a wooden station situated at an altitude of about 35 meters. With the development of coal mining, the number of passengers increased day by day, and freight operations grew, leading to a renovation into a cement station building to meet business demands. The platforms and embankments at Shuangxi Station are relatively high, with a steep gradient of 1:16 between Shuangxi and Mudan Stations, which railway enthusiasts refer to as "Mudan Slope." In the narrow area from Shuangxi Station to the banks of Mudan Creek, a different urban area has developed from the old street due to the more convenient transportation, making it the busiest place in Shuangxi today. It is only about 100 meters from the station to the riverside, where one can see the unique architectural styles of the northeastern mountainous region.
