Guihou Fishing Port Introduction
Guihou was originally a simple and quiet fishing village in the Wanli District of New Taipei City, where most residents engaged in fishing. Fishermen would unload their catches at the harbor for auction, gradually turning Guihou Fishing Port into a seafood market. The buildings here are beautifully painted, and the sea is a stunning blue and clear. The main products sold are fresh seafood, operated by local fishermen from Wanli, with self-production and self-marketing, offering high-quality goods at reasonable prices. The market also provides cooking services. Wanli Crab is a seafood marketing brand from Taiwan, referring to crabs caught in Wanli District, New Taipei City, which accounts for over 80% of Taiwan's crab catch. In August 2012, the New Taipei City Government established the "Wanli Crab" brand, which includes three major types of crabs: flower crab (Portunus sanguinolentus), three-spot crab (Charybdis japonica), and rock crab (Scylla serrata). Fishermen in Wanli have a custom of using fluorescent green three-strand ropes to tie up the crabs, which has become a notable feature of Wanli Crab. From September to November during the autumn season, the fishermen's market near Guihou Fishing Port attracts a crowd of people eager to buy delicious Wanli crabs. Today, Guihou Fishing Port has gained fame for Wanli Crab and has become one of the busiest fishing ports on the northern coast. A must-try dish here is the steamed Wanli Crab, which is prepared without any seasoning, allowing the fresh taste of the sea to remain in the crab meat, providing an exquisite flavor that can be enjoyed through simple steaming!
