Aofeng Mountain Sports Park Introduction
The "Aofeng Mountain Hiking Trail" in the Qingshui District is covered by public liability insurance. Aofeng Mountain Sports Park, which was formerly known as "Qingshui Park," is located on the northern side of the Dadu Mountain Plateau in Taichung City, occupying an area of approximately 60 hectares. It connects with Ziyun Temple, forming a travel route that attracts many visitors on weekends, who come to enjoy recreational activities such as running, chatting, walking, and baseball on the spacious lawn. The park features a kite area for families to enjoy kite flying, as well as a barbecue area where friends can gather for cooking and socializing, making it a refreshing and tranquil place suitable for family recreation and exercise. The park includes a children's playground, a cycling competition venue, a kite plaza, a bird-watching area, and a historic preservation area. The cycling competition venue is known as Asia's first international standard venue, and a massive company famous for producing Giant bicycles also operates in Taichung, which can be considered a hub for bicycles. In the bird-watching area, various bird species and other animals such as squirrels and peacocks can be seen, attracting the curiosity of many visitors. Additionally, there is a stone cave known as the "Ghost Cave" near its creek, which is about 1 kilometer long and features a winding and varied interior, making it an excellent spot for exploration. There are different hiking routes to choose from in this area; one route goes from Lover's Slope to Qingyun Temple or Prince Hall, returning via the steep East Mountain Road to the kite lawn, which is a more relaxed and recreational route. Another route begins behind the cycling competition venue towards Qingyun Temple or Prince Hall, returning via the artificial steps along the flood path next to Ke Cai Ancestral Hall, which is suitable for those looking for a more vigorous hike. It is advisable for everyone to judge according to their own physical ability, and local residents often prefer to take the "Shrine Slope" stairs up Aofeng Mountain, where the lush greenery along the way feels like walking through a green tunnel, leaving one feeling refreshed and uplifted.
