Barrel Mountain Introduction
Jiu Tun Mountain, with an elevation of 977 meters, is not shaped like a wine barrel but resembles a series of nine water buckets due to its continuous peaks. The winding mountain roads provide a unique landscape. At the summit, there is a leisure farm and accommodations surrounded by lush greenery, and from the viewing platform, one can overlook the entire Greater Taichung area, as well as Changhua and Nantou. The surrounding mountain ranges, hills, and streams are all in sight, and ships navigating the Taiwan Strait are often clearly visible. During the day, one can witness the sunrise and sea of clouds; in the evening, the orange-red sunset; and at night, the beautiful night view. Especially after rain, the clouds envelop the mountains, with peaks occasionally obscured or revealed, resembling small islands over the sea. The ever-changing sea of clouds in the valleys is truly captivating.
