Due to the love for music among the people of Houli, this Western industry took root here. The simplicity of the people of Houli allowed this craft industry to be passed down. At its peak, Houli, Taichung, exported one-third of the global production of saxophones each year, making it a unique and legendary local industry.

Houli Saxophone Player Museum Introduction

Mr. Wanfu Zhang, the technical director of WANLI FU Musical Instruments, has over fifty-five years of manufacturing experience, having studied under five uncles: Zhang San, Zhang Lai, Zhang Kun, Zhang A-Liang, and Zhang Fengxiong. The arduous journey of seeking mentorship has established a solid manufacturing foundation and a keen sensitivity to musical instruments. Since the establishment of the saxophone factory, the instruments produced have won numerous awards and gained international brand recognition, making Mr. Zhang one of Taiwan's national treasure craftsmen. In 2005, Mr. Wanfu Zhang and his wife, Ms. Lin Meiyun, founded the Taiwanese saxophone brand: WONGFUL, and established the Houli Saxophone Player’s Pavilion, becoming Taiwan's first dedicated saxophone store, focusing on enhancing the local musical culture. The Houli Saxophone Player’s Pavilion currently has its main store in Houli, Taichung, and a branch in Taipei. In addition to the proprietary WONGFUL saxophones, the Houli store offers imported saxophones and related accessories for players, providing more enjoyment in playing. The Taipei branch offers instruments and accessories, with regular maintenance days each month, ensuring that consumers in the northern region can enjoy more convenient after-sales service.
