Yuanman Church Introduction
Covering an area of 3,465 square meters, this is the largest church in Southeast Asia. The entire structure stands four stories high and features elements of Romanesque, Baroque, Rococo, and Gothic architectural styles. From above, the building takes the shape of a large cross imprinted on the grounds. Inside, the cross-shaped design and the large cross of light that reflects through the vaulted ceiling create a unique and creative ambiance in the hall. The walls of the hall are engraved with the complete text of the Bible and feature sculptures of Jesus’ life and deeds. Through intricate modern technology, stained glass illuminates the compassionate light of the saints, along with the blood of Christ and the tears of his disciples, all vividly presented. Surrounding the church is an European-style garden, complete with stone sculptures depicting the 14 Stations of the Cross representing Christ's Passion. At the center lies an artistic fountain, while adjacent to it is the Rose Mary Courtyard, which reflects the serene expression of the Virgin Mary with her Son. The garden also includes benches carved with cute animals, allowing travelers to enjoy playing with children in the European garden. Additionally, there are large stone sculptures depicting scenes such as "Jesus Blessing the Children," "Five Joys of Compassion," "The Resurrection of Lazarus," "Five Joys of Double Happiness," "Five Sorrows," and "The Last Supper."
