Yuanman Church Introduction
Covering an area of 3,463 square meters, it is the largest church in Southeast Asia. The four-story building incorporates elements of Romanesque, Baroque, Rococo, and Gothic architecture. Viewed from above, the entire structure resembles a large cross imprinted on the site. Inside, the cross-shaped architecture and the large cross-shaped light reflections from the open roof cast into the hall showcase a uniquely creative style. The inner walls of the hall are engraved with the full text of the Bible and feature sculptures depicting the life and deeds of Jesus, with light from stained glass illuminating intimate details like the divine compassion emanating from the saints, the blood shed by Jesus, and the tears of the faithful. Surrounding the church is a European-style garden with stone sculptures depicting the fourteen Stations of the Cross from Jesus' Passion, and a central artistic fountain. Adjacent to it is the Rosary Garden, expressing the gentleness of the Virgin Mary and her love for her son. The garden also features benches carved with adorable animals for travelers to enjoy playing with children in the European-style garden. The garden is also adorned with large stone carvings depicting scenes such as "Jesus Blessing the Children," "Five Joys of Chongfu," "The Resurrection of Lazarus," "Five Joys of Double Happiness," "Five Sorrows," and "The Last Supper."
