Baiyang Sacred Temple Introduction
The "Yiguandao Founders Memorial Hall - Baiyang Holy Temple", which cost more than NT$1 billion and took over 20 years to build, resembles the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. The entire exterior is adorned with cloisonné, and the pure copper inlays are brilliantly gilded. Its area and height surpass those of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, making it a remarkable wonder of ancient and modern times and an extraordinary masterpiece. The entire structure stands at 54 meters tall, with an internal area of 300 ping and an external area of 300 ping. The three-tiered roof design symbolizes heaven, earth, and humanity. Inside, the four large columns represent the four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. These are further divided into 12 months and then into 24 solar terms, incorporating the principles of Daoism into the architecture. This achievement fulfills the goals of our predecessors and allows Daoist practitioners from all over the world to participate in the efforts to realize a harmonious world under Maitreya.
