Baiyang Sheng Temple Introduction
The "I-Kuan Tao Patriarch Memorial Hall - Baiyang Holy Temple," which cost over 1 billion TWD and took more than 20 years to build, is modeled after the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. The entire exterior is adorned with cloisonné, and the copper inlays are dazzling in gold and bright colors. The structure is larger in area and height than the Temple of Heaven, making it a remarkable sight, a monumental work of our time. The entire building stands at 54 meters tall, with an interior area of 300 ping and an exterior area of 300 ping. The three-tiered eaves symbolize heaven, earth, and humanity. Four large central pillars represent the four seasons—spring, summer, autumn, and winter—divided into 12 months and then further into 24 solar terms. This combines the essence of Taoism with architecture, achieving the goals set by past enthusiasts and allowing Taoists worldwide to participate in the effort to realize the Maitreya Home.
