Starry Mountain Villa Introduction
The Zhaixing Mountain Villa, a designated historic site in Taichung City, is currently undergoing restoration and is closed to the public. Located in the Tanzi District, next to the Tanyatian Cycling Path, it is also known as the Tanzi Lin Residence. The villa covers an area of over 2,000 ping and was built by General Lin Qi-Zhong during the 10th year of the Tongzhi Era (1871 AD), taking nine years to complete by the 5th year of the Guangxu Era (1879 AD). With a history of over a century, it is a traditional quadrangle building featuring multiple protective dragons, particularly noted for its exquisite carvings, rice clay ceramics, decorative paintings, and structural elements. It is renowned as "the foremost of Taiwan's ten notable residences" and has been designated as a municipal historic site.
