Starry Mountain Villa Introduction
The Taichung City designated historic site, Zhaixing Villa, is currently undergoing restoration work and is closed to the public. Zhaixing Villa, located alongside the Tanyashen Bicycle Path in the Tanzi District of Taichung, is also known as the Tanzi Lin Residence. Covering an area of over 2,000 ping, it was built by General Lin Qizhong during the 10th year of the Tongzhi era (1871) and took nine years to complete, finishing in the 5th year of the Guangxu era (1879), making it over a century old. This traditional four-sided courtyard building features two entrances and multiple protective dragons, and is noted for its exquisite carvings, Jiaozi pottery, decorative paintings, and structural details. It is renowned as "the foremost residential house in Taiwan" and has been designated as a city historic site.
