The Taichung City designated historic site, the Starry Sky Villa, is currently undergoing restoration and is closed to the public. Located in the Tanzi District of Taichung, next to the Tanyang Bicycle Path, it is also known as the Tanzi Lin Residence. The site covers an area of over 2,000 ping (approximately 6,600 square meters) and was built by General Lin Qi-Zhong in the 10th year of the Tongzhi era (1871) and took nine years to complete, finishing in the 5th year of the Guangxu era (1879). With over a hundred years of history, it is a traditional siheyuan (quadrangular courtyard) building with two main halls and multiple protected dragons. The villa is particularly noted for its exquisite performances in relief sculptures, traditional pottery, decorative paintings, and architectural structure, earning it the title of "the foremost residence in Taiwan" and designating it as a historical site at the city level.

Starry Sky Villa Introduction

The Zhaixing Mountain Villa, a designated historical site in Taichung City, is currently undergoing renovation and is temporarily closed to the public. Located in the Tanzi District next to the Tanyashan Bicycle Path, it is also known as the Tanzi Lin Residence. The villa covers an area of over 2,000 ping and was built by General Lin Qi Zhong during the 10th year of the Tongzhi era (1871 AD), taking nine years to complete by the 5th year of the Guangxu era (1879 AD). With a history of more than a hundred years, it is a traditional four-sided courtyard with two main sections and multiple dragon ridges. Notably, the villa showcases exquisite representations in reliefs, Chiayi pottery, decorative paintings, and structural design, earning it the title of "the foremost of Taiwan's top ten residential buildings," and it has been designated as a historical landmark.

Remarks:Since the park mainly consists of natural ecological environments, please try to avoid entering the bamboo forest area at the back to prevent attacks from insects and snakes.
