Starry Mountain Villa Introduction
The Taichung City designated historic site, Zhaixing Mountain Villa, is currently undergoing restoration work and is closed to the public. Zhaixing Mountain Villa, located beside the Tanyatian Bicycle Path in the Tanzi District of Taichung, is also known as the Tanzi Lin Residence. Covering an area of over 2,000 ping, it was built by General Lin Qi Zhong during the 10th year of the Tongzhi era (1871) and took nine years to complete by the 5th year of the Guangxu era (1879), making it over a hundred years old. It is a traditional siheyuan (courtyard house) with two sets of entryways and multiple protective dragons. The villa is particularly noted for its exquisite reliefs, Jiaozhi pottery, decorative paintings, and structural features, earning it the reputation of being "the number one residential house in Taiwan," and it has been designated as a city historic site.
