Tanzi Elementary School was established on May 1, 1909, as the Tanziqian Branch of Hulusun Public School during the 42nd year of the Meiji era. It became an independent school known as Tanziqian Public School on April 1, the following year. In 1941, in line with the reform of the elementary education system in Taiwan, it was renamed Tanzi National School. After the war, in 1968, it was changed to Tanzi National Elementary School.
