Tanzi Elementary School was established on May 1, 1909, as the Tanziqian Branch of Hulin School during the 42nd year of the Meiji era. In the following year, on April 1, it became an independent school named Tanziqian School. In 1941, in accordance with the reform of Taiwan's elementary education system, it was renamed Tanzi National School. After the war, in 1968, it was changed to Tanzi National Elementary School.
