Taiwan Printing Museum Introduction
Established in March 1949, originally named the "Taiwan Provincial Government Secretarial Office Printing Factory," it was under the Taiwan Provincial Government Secretarial Office. As of July 1, 1999, due to the streamlining of the government, it was reassigned to the Ministry of Finance and renamed the "Ministry of Finance Printing Factory." It has now been in operation for over sixty years. Its main business includes the printing, sale, and prize redemption of uniform invoices, as well as the publication of bulletins, books, registries, confidential documents, accounts, tickets, tax stamps, securities, and other items for various government agencies and educational institutions, along with accepting commissions from agencies at different levels. Throughout its operational history, the printing factory has undergone continuous transformation in its business model: shifting from labor-intensive to capital-intensive and then to knowledge-intensive; its core operations have also quickly adjusted from production-oriented to marketing-oriented and finally to service-oriented. Such rapid and flexible transformations play a crucial role in stabilizing tax revenue collection, especially as it has undertaken uniform invoice printing for over 60 years, accompanying economic and social developments at various stages. It symbolizes significant cultural, social, and economic meanings and has also produced many historically unique printed materials, such as consumer vouchers aligned with national policies and anti-counterfeiting printing technologies, showcasing its innovative characteristics that keep up with the times, holding unique significance in industrial culture. The Taiwan Printing Exploration Hall is the first printing industry tourism factory in Taiwan and the first to open its uniform invoice printing process, providing a fun and educational experience for both adults and children. Upholding the intent of industrial heritage and educational inspiration, through interactive experiences and games during tours, visitors can learn about the origins of writing, how printing has changed the world, the secrets of winning the uniform invoice lottery, printing effects that resemble magic, and how to use traditional platen printing machines. We hope to present the beauty of printing to everyone and welcome all to join us at the "Taiwan Printing Exploration Hall" to become good friends with our printing Gutenberg! *For more related information, please visit the official website of the printing factory.
