Taiwan Printing Museum Introduction
Established in March 1949, originally named "Taiwan Provincial Government Secretariat Printing Plant," it was under the jurisdiction of the Taiwan Provincial Government Secretariat. On July 1, 1999, due to the government restructuring, it was transferred to the Ministry of Finance and renamed the "Ministry of Finance Printing Plant." To date, it has survived for a full sixty years. Its main business includes the printing, sale, and award redemption of uniform invoices, official publications, books, forms, confidential documents, account books, receipts, tax stamps, securities, and other commissioned printing tasks for various government agencies and schools. Throughout its operation, the printing plant has undergone continuous changes in its business model: shifting from labor-intensive to capital-intensive and then to knowledge-intensive, with its operational core rapidly adjusting from production-oriented to marketing-oriented and finally to service-oriented. Such swift and dynamic transformations have played a crucial role in stabilizing fiscal revenue collection, especially in the printing industry of uniform invoices for over 60 years, accompanying various stages of economic and social development. It possesses significant economic and cultural symbolism and has produced many historical and unique printed materials, such as consumer voucher gift bags aligned with national policy implementation and applications of anti-counterfeiting printing technologies. The Taiwan Printing Exploration Museum is the first printing industry sightseeing factory in Taiwan and is the first to open its uniform invoice printing process to allow both adults and children to explore and learn in a fun and educational environment. Upholding the original intention of industrial heritage and educational inspiration, it provides interactive experiences through playful activities during guided tours. Visitors can learn about the origins of writing, how printing has changed the world, the secrets of winning uniform invoices, experience the magic-like effects of printing, and try using old-fashioned platen presses. We invite everyone to join us at the "Taiwan Printing Exploration Museum" and become good friends with our Printing Gutenberg! *For more information, please visit the official website of the printing plant.
