Taiwan Printing Museum Introduction
Established in March 1949, originally named "Taiwan Provincial Government Secretariat Printing Factory," it was part of the Taiwan Provincial Government Secretariat. On July 1, 1999, due to "streamlining," it was reassigned to the Ministry of Finance and renamed the "Ministry of Finance Printing Factory," having undergone a full six decades to date. Its main business includes the printing, sale, and prize redemption of unified invoices, as well as the publication of bulletins, books, forms, confidential documents, ledgers, notes, tax tickets, and securities for various government agencies and educational institutions, and accepting commissions from agencies at all levels. Throughout its operational history, the printing factory's business model has continuously transformed: from labor-intensive to capital-intensive, and then to knowledge-intensive; the core operations have also swiftly adjusted: from production-oriented to marketing-oriented, and now to service-oriented. This rapid and agile transformation plays a crucial role in stabilizing tax collection, especially with over 60 years of contracting the printing of unified invoices, reflecting the symbolic significance of economic, social, and cultural development. It has also produced many historically unique printed materials, such as consumer coupon gift bags aligned with national policy execution and applications of anti-counterfeiting printing technologies, showcasing innovative characteristics adapting to current trends and possessing unique significance in industrial culture. The Taiwan Printing Exploration Museum is the first printing industry tourist factory in Taiwan and is also the first to open the printing process of invoices for adults and children to explore, making it an excellent place for education and entertainment. Upholding the intention of industrial heritage and educational inspiration, through interactive experiential games during the guided tour, visitors can learn about the origins of writing, how printing has changed the world, the secrets of winning unified invoices, and experience the use of ancient platen presses, aiming to present the beauty of printing to everyone. We welcome you to join us at the "Taiwan Printing Exploration Museum" and be good friends with our printing master Gutenberg! *For more related information, please visit the official website of the printing factory.
