Maruzen Food Industrial Tourism Factory Introduction

Founded in Taichung City's First Market, Maru-Wen Food has been a local brand for nearly 70 years, passed down through three generations, and is now a representative of Taichung's local souvenirs. With over half a century of skill inheritance, Maru-Wen selects only the finest parts of the large white marlin for sashimi, stir-frying them with exclusive handmade pork lard. Using all-natural and simple ingredients combined with unique methods, they create the famous golden flaked marlin shreds. The classics are revived through re-creation, showcasing the brand's legacy. In addition to its loyal customer base, Maru-Wen has raised brand awareness and favorability, broadening its consumer market. With government support, they aim to attract younger and urban consumers, expanding their local brand internationally, allowing more people to recognize the high-quality flaked fish shreds and Maru-Wen. In recent years, they established a tourist factory, officially opening on January 1, 2021, expanding their original Dali factory. The DIY fish ball-making experience is particularly popular among young parents. In just 20 minutes of guided tours, visitors can learn about the production process of marlin shreds and fish balls. Following the tour, children are led by professional artisans to make their first fish ball. During the process, the artisan demonstrates the proper technique for shaping fish balls, ensuring they maintain a certain elasticity, allowing them to enjoy a 'QQ' (chewy) texture. Of course, participants are encouraged to be creative, making various shapes of fish balls and sharing their creative ideas, leaving behind wonderful and joyful memories.
