Ching Kuo Street Shopping District Introduction

Before the restoration of Taiwan, it mainly featured essential businesses such as fabric stores, dining establishments, watch shops, and grocery stores; during the Japanese era to the early restoration period, it could be said to be one of the busiest streets in Taichung City. Jiguang Street in Taichung City was originally one of the themed commercial streets in the central commercial district, formed by Jiguang Street, West Lujing Street, Taiwan Boulevard, and the adjacent Free Road business district. The Jiguang pedestrian zone construction plan has now been completed, aiming to connect the train station, Zhongshan Park, Electronics Street, and East Lujing Street surrounding Jiguang Street, continuing the new urban landscape; it addresses the issues of congestion and complex street structures by optimizing the overall environment and integrating the blocks, enhancing the comfort of shopping and commercial attractiveness. Jiguang Street was the most prosperous commercial area at that time, and it holds memories for the older generation of Taichung residents; as time has changed, it has evolved into a diverse range of operations, showcasing vibrant commercial vitality.
