Asas Statue Introduction

"Arthas" is one of the main characters in the computer game series "Warcraft," published by the American company Blizzard Entertainment, and he is also one of the most beloved heroes in "Heroes of the Storm." In the story, his difficult decisions to protect the people have made his dramatically charged life cherished by many players, establishing him as one of the most popular and high-profile characters in the "Warcraft" series. The day Arthas Menethil was born, the entire forest of Lordaeron whispered his name, as he was destined to write a legendary chapter that would shake the very foundations of Azeroth. In 2016, commemorating the 25th anniversary of Blizzard Entertainment, a statue of Arthas was specially made and installed in Taiwan as a token of appreciation for players in Taiwan and Asia. This also marks Blizzard Entertainment's first outdoor art installation open to the public. The designer, Steve Wang, is an effects artist and filmmaker from Hollywood, born in Taipei and immigrated to the United States at the age of nine. This grand project mobilized 30 staff members and took more than 1,000 hours of work (over nine months). With exquisite craftsmanship and meticulous design, the statue of Arthas stands impressively on Calligraphy Greenway, creating a unique cultural landmark for citizens and tourists alike. The Arthas statue is located in the southern section of Calligraphy Greenway, which connects the National Museum of Natural Science in the north to the Calligraphy Garden Road in the south, enhancing the coherence of the cultural and artistic atmosphere. It provides international tourists with a distinct travel experience, promoting local cultural features deeply while also actively connecting Taichung with the world, shaping a new visage that embodies both Eastern heritage and Western elements.
