Civic Boulevard Introduction
Calligraphy Greenway begins at the National Museum of Natural Science in the north and extends south to the Green Park Lane of the Art Garden. This urban space features a linear structure connected by key activity points, including the National Museum of Natural Science, Civic Square, Chun Shing Eslite Greenway, cultural and artistic spaces, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, and food streets. The intensity, atmosphere, and spatial scale of activities vary between being compact and serene, creating a natural and fluid rhythm akin to the cursive script in calligraphy. The ancient understanding of cursive writing describes it as: "white reckoned against black, the leading character directing the piece; swirling left and right with a blend of density and sparseness; dense but not suffocating, ample enough for a horse to run." The spatial organization framed by cursive writing serves as the starting point for design inspiration. With a focus on the rhythm and nuances of cursive writing, the aim is to create an urban distinctive space along the Greenway. Due to the concept of "cursive writing" in the design, it is also known by the alternative name "Calligraphy Greenway." Recommended spots to explore around Calligraphy Greenway:
