Qinmei Eslite Green Park Lane Introduction
The building was redesigned by renowned architects Chen Rui-hsien and Kuo Hsiu-yuan, originally an idle parking garage. After the team from Qinyi and Eslite took over, they aimed to blend the building with the surrounding greenery, adhering to the concept of respecting nature. After overcoming numerous challenges with the help of hundreds of experts, they decided to extend the surrounding greenery onto the walls, creating an urban vertical garden where plants and architecture coexist. This is Taiwan's first large-scale living wall, with a total of 120,000 plants growing naturally on the exterior, equipped with 3 kilometers of water pipeline to regularly provide moisture and nutrients. These plants can absorb 200 kilograms of carbon dioxide daily and release 150 kilograms of oxygen, helping to cool the area and reduce electricity consumption in summer. Utilizing experts from various fields such as architecture, structure, landscape, and botany, and after more than a year of continuous design revisions and countless site surveys and ecological studies, they successfully addressed challenges related to structure, gravity, plant selection, irrigation, drainage, typhoon resistance, and seismic design, ultimately installing around 140,000 plants on the walls. To ensure the plants can sustainably coexist with the building, the living wall is equipped with a complete irrigation system, featuring over 6,000 drip lines, 3 kilometers of water pipelines, and hundreds of nozzles, allowing plants to self-sustain without replacement and providing a habitat for many birds, butterflies, and flowers. In addition to the architectural appearance, to create a green shopping space filled with sunlight, air, and water, they did not hesitate to demolish the central area of the shopping center, creating a 5-story atrium with a 20-meter tall indoor living wall, and meticulously designing a mirrored water pool for water circulation, with a stage in the water as a venue for cultural and creative activities. The Eslite Bookstore on the 3rd floor is the largest flagship store in the central region, making Qinyi Eslite Greenway a new landmark of natural and cultural significance. It not only won the National Excellent Construction Award in 2009 but also represented Taiwan in winning the "2010 Global Excellence in Architecture Award," often referred to as the Oscar of the real estate industry. The complex also features a children's hall, a music hall, the Eslite wine cellar, various themed dining options, an exquisite supermarket, and a multifunctional exhibition hall, along with over a hundred square meters of Eslite stationery, lifestyle products, and designer clothing and accessories, creating an atmosphere of the latest creative fashion, perfect for friends who love boutique shopping, creativity, and fashion. Additionally, it is located near the National Museum of Natural Science, the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, the Evergreen Laurel Hotel, the National Hotel, the Asia Hotel, and the Shih Hua International Building, allowing visitors to easily arrange a joyful day trip.
