Chunmei Eslite Green Park Lane Introduction
Renowned architects Chen Ruixian and Guo Xuyuan redesigned the building, which was originally an idle parking garage. After the Cing Mei and Eslite teams took over, they aimed to integrate the building with the surrounding greenery while adhering to the philosophy of respecting nature. After overcoming numerous challenges with the help of hundreds of experts, it was decided to allow the greenery to extend vertically onto the walls, creating an urban vertical garden where plants and architecture coexist. This is Taiwan's first large-scale green wall, featuring a total of 120,000 plants growing naturally on the facade, equipped with 3 kilometers of water routing pipelines to regularly provide moisture and nutrients. These plants can absorb 200 kilograms of carbon dioxide daily and release 150 kilograms of oxygen, and they also help reduce temperatures and electricity costs in the summer. With the involvement of experts in architecture, structure, landscape, and botany, after more than a year and over thirty revisions, countless site inspections, and ecological studies, they successfully overcame challenges related to structure, gravity, species selection, irrigation, drainage, typhoon resistance, and earthquake resistance, finally mounting around 140,000 plants onto the walls. To ensure the sustainable coexistence of plants and architecture, the green wall is equipped with a complete irrigation system using over 6,000 drip lines, 3 kilometers of water pipelines, and hundreds of喷头, allowing the plants to self-sustain and not needing replacement, which also became a home for many flowers, birds, and butterflies. In addition to the building's facade, to create a green shopping space filled with sunlight, air, and water, the central area of the shopping center was sacrificed to create a five-story atrium with a 20-meter-high indoor green wall, carefully designed with a water circulation mirror pool and a stage in the water for cultural and creative activities. The Eslite store on the third floor is the largest flagship store in the central region, making Cing Mei Eslite Greenway a new landmark of natural culture. It won the National Excellent Construction Award in 2009 and, representing Taiwan, was awarded the "2010 Global Excellence in Architecture Award," often referred to as the Oscar of the real estate industry. The park also features a children's center, music hall, Eslite wine cellar, various themed restaurants, a gourmet supermarket, and multifunctional exhibition halls, along with over a hundred square meters of Eslite stationery, lifestyle products, and designer clothing accessories, creating an atmosphere of the latest creative fashion, perfect for friends who love boutique shopping, creativity, and fashion. Additionally, it is located near the National Museum of Natural Science, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Evergreen Laurel Hotel, Grand Fullon Hotel, Aryaduta Hotel, and Shihua International Building, allowing visitors to create a fun one-day tour on their own.
