Longmu Well Introduction

In the early period of the Qing Dynasty, Changhua was established as a city. Due to the salty water in Changyi, this well water was sweet, and the city walls were almost decided to be built here. However, the residents of Changyi were unwilling to give up and secretly poured a lot of salt into this well to obstruct it. As a result, the county seat was eventually decided to be built in what is now known as Changhua. The Longmu Well, which has now been rebuilt with cement, is no longer as it was in the past. According to the Changhua County Annals, the origin of the well states: "Longmu Well is located seventeen li north of the city, its spring gushes several feet high, resembling the spraying of jade flowers. The fields below the mountain, covering several acres, are irrigated by this spring. The water is blue in color and sweet in taste, and many locals come to draw water from it. There are two stones nearby, shaped like dragon eyes, hence the name." The image is provided with the assistance of the Longjing District Office.
