Longmujing Introduction

During the early Qing Dynasty, Changhua was established as a city. Due to the salty water in Changyi, this well had sweet water, and the city walls were almost determined to be built here. However, the local people in Changyi were not willing to give up and secretly sprinkled a lot of salt into this well to obstruct it. As a result, the county seat was decided to be built in present-day Changhua. Longmu Well is now constructed with concrete and is no longer as it was in the past. According to the Changhua County Annals, "Longmu Well is located seventeen miles north of the county seat, with springs gushing up several feet like a fountain of jade flowers. The fields below, several acres, are irrigated by this spring. The water is clear and sweet, and many locals fetch it. There are two stones nearby that resemble dragon eyes, hence the name."
