The intersection of Section 7, Taiwan Boulevard and Provincial Highway 10 (Sanmin Road) is a crucial route for accessing the Port of Taichung, Central Taiwan International Airport, the Second Freeway, and National Highway 1 in Shalu District. The traffic flow during peak hours at this intersection is quite high. In consideration of the traffic safety for students commuting to and from Zhulin Elementary School and Shalu Senior High School nearby, a pedestrian overpass was constructed, which was completed in December 2007, making the commuting experience for students from Zhulin Elementary and Shalu Senior High safer.

Shalu Wing Introduction

Spanning across Section 7 of Taiwan Boulevard, the Shalu Wing pedestrian bridge was completed in 2007 and has become a new attraction in the Shalu area, attracting many photography enthusiasts. The bridge, designed in a large "S" shape, resembles a auspicious white dragon lying across Taiwan Boulevard during the day, guarding the people traveling between Taichung City and Shalu. At night, the bridge’s body and the colorful LED lights on the steel cables flash and intertwine with the headlights of passing vehicles, creating a moving artwork.
