沙鹿之翼

The intersection of Taiwan Boulevard Section 7 and Provincial Highway 10 (Sanmin Road) is a necessary route connecting Shalu District to Taichung Port, Taichung International Airport, the Second Highway, and National Freeway No. 1. The traffic volume during peak hours at this intersection is quite high. In consideration of the traffic safety of students commuting to and from Zhulin Elementary School and Shalu Senior High School nearby, a pedestrian overpass was built and completed in December 2007, making the commute for students to and from Zhulin Elementary School and Shalu Senior High School safer.

Shalu Wing Introduction

The pedestrian bridge known as Shalu Wing spans Taiwan Boulevard Section 7. Completed in 2007, it has become a new attraction in the Shalu area and a popular spot for photographers. This S-shaped pedestrian bridge resembles a long, auspicious white dragon lying across Taiwan Boulevard during the day, guarding the people traveling between Taichung City and Shalu. At night, the bridge and the colorful LED lights on the steel cables flash, intertwining with the headlights of passing vehicles to create a dynamic artwork.
