The intersection of Section 7, Taiwan Boulevard and Provincial Highway 10 (Sanmin Road) is a vital route connecting Shalu District to Taichung Port, Central Taiwan International Airport, the Second Highway, and National Freeway No. 1. The traffic flow at this intersection is particularly high during peak hours. Considering the traffic safety of students commuting to and from Zhulin Elementary School and Shalu Senior High School nearby, a pedestrian overpass was constructed and completed in December 2007, enhancing the safety of students traveling to and from these schools.

Shalu Wings Introduction

The pedestrian bridge known as Shalu Wing stretches across Section 7 of Taiwan Boulevard. Completed in 2007, it has become a new attraction in the Shalu area and a popular spot for many photographers. This S-shaped pedestrian bridge resembles a lucky white dragon lying across Taiwan Boulevard during the day, protecting those traveling between Taichung City and Shalu. At night, the bridge and the colorful LED lights on its cables flicker, intertwining with the headlights of passing vehicles, creating a dynamic work of art.
