Hutoupi Scenic Area Introduction

Hutoupi is Taiwan's first reservoir, with a history of over a century that has garnered praise from many scholars and literary figures, and it is also known as the "Little Sun Moon Lake." Hutoupi exists like a backyard to Tainan city, and it was also a filming location for Jay Chou's movie "The Rooftop." The completion of the Huyue Suspension Bridge in 1905 added charm to the lake surface. The trails that surround the lake, framed by the stunning scenery of mountains and water, provide a comfortable environment for walking or cycling while enjoying the views. The recreational facilities within the reservoir are also well-equipped, and the barbecue area is particularly lively on weekends, where many families and friends enjoy the fun of outdoor cooking. If you wish to stay by the lakeside after barbecuing, the camping area can accommodate this desire. In addition to appreciating the lake views along the lakeside trail, visitors can also paddle around the lake on swan boats or canoes.
