Jifeng Temple Introduction
The Guardian Deity of Dock Workers is located near the Duiyue Gate. The long stone-paved road is the well-known Xinyi Street for tourists today. However, this narrow street was once part of the famous "Xingangqian Port" of Tainan's "Wutiao Port." Dock workers with the surnames Huang, Wang, and Liu, who were responsible for cargo handling, invited the deity Xuantian Shangdi from their hometown to Taiwan to pray for safe shipping and smooth work. This temple has also become a gathering place for these workers with the same surnames. Temples such as "Jinhua Temple" on Shennong Street and "Nanshagong Temple" on Heping Street were established for the same reasons.
