Tainan Transfer Station Introduction
Tainan Transfer Station is constructed using shallow foundation architecture paired with the stacking of shipping containers. It utilizes green building materials and recyclable containers to maintain flexible space usage, distinguishing it from the rigid constraints of traditional reinforced concrete buildings. A total of 64 twenty-foot containers are stacked on the east and west sides of the main station, creating spaces necessary for operations such as waiting areas, ticket sales, commercial areas, and offices for businesses. This design was nominated for the 2019 World Architecture Festival Award.
