Chen's Handmade Tofu Pudding Introduction
Hidden in the alleys of Tainan, without any large signs or crowds waiting in line, there is an old Tofu Pudding shop that has been passed down through word of mouth among the locals. The elderly owner, who has been making tofu pudding for 50 years, has passed on his handmade tofu pudding recipe to his grandson in his twenties. In 1949, the owner carried a shoulder pole to push his cart, offering only tofu pudding with syrup, hence the name traditional tofu pudding. However, as the trend of adding ingredients to tofu pudding has become popular, we now offer a variety of delicious options. Tapioca Pearls: Soft and chewy traditional tapioca balls that become sticky if left overnight, with no artificial ingredients. Red Beans: Using Pingtung Wandan red beans, which have thin skins and rich flesh, carefully boiled for guaranteed quality. Lemon and Kumquat: Made with fresh fruit juice, not canned. Additionally, our syrup is made from granulated sugar and brown sugar, providing a natural aroma for your peace of mind.
