Jiufanpi Wetland Park Introduction
Jiu Fan Pi was originally a public irrigation pond providing agricultural water sources. After the decline of agriculture and the obstruction caused by the freeway, it fell into neglect and was subjected to indiscriminate dumping of construction waste. Through the efforts of environmental groups and local enthusiasts, the original waterways were restored, and the concept of a wetland nature park was introduced. Facilities were planned, including walking paths, water recreation areas, educational zones, water quality settling areas, and natural forest areas. It not only provides a habitat for natural wildlife but also serves as a flood control measure and a place for citizens to connect with nature, becoming a paradise. The existing A-shaped reinforced concrete structure at Jiu Fan Pi was an important tool for early wood companies to transport logs to the wood storage ponds, holding significant historical value and becoming a distinctive landmark of the area. Today, the wetland parks connecting north and south Kaohsiung have formed a beautiful chain, with reflections of the sky and clouds on the green water's edge, the sounds of insects and birds creating a lush and vibrant scenery, making it one of the most comfortable and serene corners of the city.
