Diyuan Temple Introduction
Diyuan Temple is located in Hongshuikeng, Liugui District, near Caidi Valley and Laonong Creek. It is a branch of Yuanzhao Temple in Qiaosong and is one of the three major temples in Liugui, alongside Shenwei Tiantai Mountain and Miaochong Temple. Diyuan Temple primarily enshrines Sakyamuni Buddha and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, attracting many devotees and maintaining a vibrant incense offering even on weekdays. Surrounded by mountains and sitting with its back to the hills and facing the water, Diyuan Temple presents a serene and tranquil atmosphere. The architectural style of Diyuan Temple is grand and majestic, resembling a large palace. The Main Hall enshrines Sakyamuni Buddha, while the rear hall features a reclining Buddha carved from a whole camphor tree. The eaves and pillars of the temple are adorned with exquisite paintings, creating a unique artistic style. The temple also houses an art gallery and a Yaoshi Pavilion, showcasing Buddhist Zen aesthetics. Outside the temple, there is a plaza with five hundred Arhats, sculpted from green stone, with each Arhat displaying different poses, faces, and expressions, appearing vividly lifelike.
