Diyuan Temple Introduction
Diyuan Temple is located in Hongshuikeng, Liugui District, near Caidi Valley and Laonong River. It is an affiliated branch of Yuan Zhao Temple in Qiaosong and is ranked among the three major temples in Liugui along with Shenwei Tiantai Mountain and Miaochong Temple. Diyuan Temple primarily enshrines Shakyamuni Buddha and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, attracting many devotees and bustling with incense offerings even on ordinary days. Surrounded by mountains, the temple, with its back to the hills and facing water, exudes a tranquil and serene atmosphere. The architecture of Diyuan Temple adopts a large palace style, solemn and grand. The Main Hall houses a statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, while the rear hall contains a reclining Buddha carved from a whole camphor tree. The eaves and beams of the temple are adorned with exquisite paintings, creating a unique artistic style. The temple also includes an art museum and a stone art gallery, showcasing the essence of Buddhist Zen. The plaza outside the temple features five hundred Arhats, carved from blue stone, each with different postures, appearances, and expressions, appearing vividly lifelike.
