Turtle King Rock Introduction
Guiwang Rock is located beside the Laonong River in the Liugui District. It is a prominent rock formation that resembles a king turtle, accompanied by the growth of yellow fragrant wood nearby. Local legend has it that beneath the Liugui Bridge, there are six rocks scattered across the riverbed of the Laonong River, which, when viewed from a distance, appear like six turtles floating in the stream. This led ancestors to name the area "Liugui." The residents refer to the largest rock as Guiwang Rock and have established a small shrine there, where they worship daily, offering cabbage and carrots as sacrifices to seek protection from water disasters. After Typhoon Morakot, it still stands silently by the Laonong River, patiently watching over the residents of Liugui. The suggested stay time is about 15 minutes; after completing a simple worship, visitors can enjoy the surrounding scenery of the Laonong River.
