Guiwang Rock Introduction
Guiwang Rock is located by the Laonong River in Liugui District. It is a majestic rock formation resembling a king, akin to a turtle, accompanied by growing yellow rattan trees nearby. According to local legend, there are six rocks scattered in the riverbed beneath the Liugui Bridge, which from a distance look like six turtles floating in the stream. Thus, the ancients named this place "Liugui." The largest rock is called Guiwang Rock, and a small shrine has been established for daily worship, where offerings of cabbage and carrots are made to seek blessings from the turtle king to guard against flooding. After Typhoon Morakot, it still stands silently by the Laonong River, watching over the residents of Liugui. A recommended stay of about 15 minutes allows for a brief worship and the chance to admire the surrounding scenery of Laonong River.
