Duck Mother Wang Zhu Yigui Cultural Park Introduction
Duck Mother Wang Zhu Yigui is undoubtedly the most famous figure in Neimen. During the Qing Dynasty, he moved to Taiwan and, junto with the Fifty-two Righteous Ones, sparked the most sensational rebellion against Qing rule to restore the Ming Dynasty. He eventually declared himself emperor but was later captured and killed by Qing forces due to internal strife. Nevertheless, Zhu Yigui's heroic image remains deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, leading the residents of Neimen to build a temple and shrine in his honor, including the Duck Mother Shrine and Xing'an Temple. In front of the temple courtyard, there is a well that Zhu Yigui used for drinking and raising ducks. It is said that tea brewed and duck eggs cooked with water from this well have a notably sweet and tender flavor.
