Duck Mother King Zhu Yigui Cultural Park Introduction
Duck Mother King Zhu Yigui is arguably the most famous figure from Neimen. During the Qing Dynasty, he moved to Taiwan and, along with the 52 righteous men, sparked the most sensational anti-Qing restoration of Ming wars across Taiwan, eventually ascending to the throne as an emperor. However, due to internal strife, he was ultimately captured and killed by the Qing army. Nevertheless, Zhu Yigui's heroic image is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, leading the residents of Neimen to construct temples and shrines in his honor, including the Duck Mother Shrine and Xing'an Temple. In front of the temple courtyard, there is a well, which was the source of drinking water for Zhu Yigui and the ducks he raised at that time. It is said that tea brewed or duck eggs cooked with this well water have a particularly sweet and tender flavor.
