Nanhai Purple Bamboo Temple Introduction

Nanhai Purple Bamboo Temple features an attractive traditional Chinese architectural style that draws visitors to stop and admire. Geographically, it is located on a "floating water lotus" terrain, with the front of the temple situated at Lobster Fighting Port, making for an excellent environment. Nearby, the Songjiang Weapon Museum is one of the highlights for visitors, showcasing a variety of Songjiang weapon artifacts and displaying the face paintings of the 108 heroes from "Water Margin." The Nanhai Purple Bamboo Temple plays a key role in the development of Wujin, specifically the dragon dance, which evolved from the "Hundred Arts" of the Northern and Southern Dynasties. Its dragon dance features a "five-clawed golden dragon" that is 180 feet long, divided into 13 sections, with the dragon's mouth equipped with dry ice and water spray devices.
