Watermelon Cultural Education Park Introduction
It's rare to find a place that starts from the perspective of family-friendly outings. When the four sisters, who used to wear "watermelon rind" shaped hats as children, grew up, their greatest joy was being able to travel together with the whole family. However, after exploring every corner of Taiwan, they still couldn't find an ideal place for family leisure activities. Thus, the sisters began to conceptualize and create their dream "Watermelon Garden." Proudly pointing at the walkway they paved by hand, the second sister said that although the path designed for "strollers" isn't wide, it saves parents a lot of effort and is also convenient for people with disabilities. The children's favorite indoor painting area is made from repurposed and smoothed out old desks and chairs, connected and glued with aluminum strips used for gardening, where lifelike ants and spiders come vividly to life. Children can fully unleash their creativity and imagination by painting with acrylic paints, expressing their unique styles. The insects in the garden have donned colorful new outfits through this artistic project, shedding the fearsome image typical of bugs. The second sister hopes that this DIY creation can serve as home decor, not only promoting recycling but also incorporating the concept of ecological conservation. In the future, butterflies and beetles that flutter in the park will also join in the painting fun.
