Li Long Mountain Ancient Castle Introduction

After a century of time, the past wars and turmoil have faded into the mountains, but the majestic ancient fortress still stands there, quietly beautiful in its unique posture. The Li Dong Mountain Fort, at an elevation of 1,914 meters, is a battlefield relic from the Anti-Japanese War, constructed from red bricks and concrete, with weathered doors, walls, and gun ports remaining after years of erosion. Seeing the Baroque-style Li Dong Mountain Fort signifies that you have reached the summit! Built in 1906 during the Japanese colonial period to attack the local Atayal people, this former military base, once filled with gunpowder smoke, now consists only of ruined walls. In 2003, the county government named it TAPUNG Fort in the Atayal language and designated it as a county-level historical monument, making it the highest historical site in northern Taiwan. While capturing photos at the summit, be sure to cherish this place.
