Huzuo Fei Art Workshop Introduction

Promoting the beauty of Guansi through hulusi music, the rose-red indoor decor blends with pleasant music, creating a relaxed and harmonious atmosphere. The owner of the Art Workshop, Chen Wen-hsien, previously opened a music classroom at this location but later felt that the classroom format was too serious and standardized, gradually transforming the space into a multifunctional venue focusing on music exchange. Chen Wen-hsien has been passionate about music since childhood, starting with the flute in elementary school and stepping into the world of traditional Chinese music in university, accumulating 30 years of music experience. He also works as a teacher at a school and serves as the music director of the "Yuefu Music Ensemble," specializing in instruments like the erhu and flute. The Art Workshop mainly promotes the hulusi, a musical instrument used by ethnic minorities in China's border areas, known for its unique sound and beautiful appearance. It also offers services such as instrument painting and crafting, providing a space for music lovers to showcase their talent in an unrestricted manner, akin to a small performance venue. Music is no longer taught in an outdated, rigid manner; instead, it is experienced through mutual appreciation and interaction. Chen Wen-hsien expressed that returning to his hometown initially brought complex feelings. Due to fewer job opportunities in rural areas, many young people choose to seek work elsewhere. This motivated him to give back to Guansi with his music experience. At the Art Workshop, you can witness Chen Wen-hsien quietly creating and cultivating, striving to compose a musical story unique to him and Guansi!
