Huzhuo Fei Art Workshop Introduction

Promoting the beauty of Guanshi through the hulusi, the rose-red indoor decoration paired with pleasant music creates a relaxed and harmonious atmosphere. The owner of Hu Zuofei Art Studio, Chen Wen-hsien, previously opened a music classroom at this location but later found the formal structure too rigid and progressively transformed the space into a multifunctional venue focused on music exchange. Chen Wen-hsien has loved music since childhood, starting with the flute in elementary school and venturing into traditional Chinese music in university, accumulating 30 years of musical experience. He teaches at school while also serving as the music director of the "Yuefu Ensemble," proficient in instruments like the erhu and flute. Hu Zuofei Art Studio primarily promotes the "hulusi," a musical instrument from China's border minority groups, known for its unique sound and beautiful appearance. The studio also offers services such as instrument painting and crafting, providing a space where music lovers can freely showcase their talents without charge, essentially acting as a small performance venue. Music is no longer taught in a rigid manner but is instead interactive through appreciation and exchange. Chen Wen-hsien expressed that returning to his hometown brought complex feelings, as opportunities for work are scarce in rural areas, leading many young people to seek jobs elsewhere. Because of this, he decided to give back his music experience to Guanshi. At the art studio, you can see Chen Wen-hsien quietly creating and cultivating, striving to compose the musical story that belongs to him and Guanshi!
