Huzuo Fei Art Studio Introduction
Promoting the beauty of Guanxi through the hulusi, the rose-red indoor decor, accompanied by soothing music, creates a relaxed and harmonious atmosphere. The owner of the art studio, Chen Wen-hsien, previously opened a music classroom at this location, but later felt that the formal and standardized format of a music class was too serious. Gradually, he shifted the space towards a mixed-use operation, starting from the exchange of music. Chen Wen-hsien has loved music since childhood, beginning with the flute in elementary school and later diving into the world of traditional Chinese music in college, accumulating 30 years of musical experience. He also teaches at school while serving as the music director of the "Music House Orchestra," specializing in instruments like the erhu and flute. The art studio primarily promotes the "hulusi," a musical instrument from the ethnic minorities in China's border regions, known for its unique sound and beautiful appearance. They also offer services for instrument painting and making, creating a space for music enthusiasts to freely perform without charge. This serves as a small performance venue where music is no longer taught in a rigid manner but appreciated through mutual exchange and interaction. Chen Wen-hsien mentioned that returning to his hometown initially brought mixed feelings, as job opportunities are fewer in rural areas, and many young people choose to venture out. Because of this, he decided he should give back his musical experience to Guanxi. At the art studio, you can see Chen Wen-hsien quietly creating and cultivating music for Guanxi, working hard to compose a musical story that belongs to both him and Guanxi!
