Frog Rock Canyon Introduction
On the way from Jianshi to Simacun, a giant rock resembling a frog can be seen facing the mountain, squatting in the valley. According to legend, a large frog came here while chasing a pair of giant mosquitoes. The mosquitoes flew to the mountain summit, but the frog was blocked by the steep cliffs and could not cross over. It gazed longingly at the mountain for hundreds of years until it eventually transformed into a giant stone. The "Frog Rock" in Jianshi Township, Hsinchu County, is located in the valley between Jinping Village and Naluo Creek and is quite magnificent, perched above a seemingly bottomless gorge, with a waterfall about 40 meters high pouring down, creating a spectacular sight. It is a beautiful recreation spot accessible from the natural valley down to this river valley. The "Frog Rock," a remarkable boulder standing in the canyon, not only resembles a frog but also exemplifies the power of nature, making it a unique landscape in Jianshi Township and a must-visit spot for tourists.
