Kiulong Banyan Tree Introduction
The Nine Dragons Banyan Tree is located in the Tian Tou Village of Zhu Tang Township, Changhua County, under the embankment of the Zhuoshui River, the mother river of Taiwan. Nurtured by the Zhuoshui River, a small banyan tree took root and grew here. After a hundred years, it became the widest tree in Taiwan, with a crown coverage area of over 3,000 ping, turning it into a typical “forest of a single tree.” Due to its intertwining branches and roots, the thick aerial roots sprout around the trunk like dragon claws, resembling a dragon soaring to the sky, thus named “Nine Dragons.” Before the construction of the Xiluo Bridge, it served as a landmark for villagers to cross the river to fetch daily necessities. Beneath the tree, a Three Saints God altar has been established for worship, where devotees find their prayers answered.
