Linpi Tomb Introduction
Lin Pi-Jiang was from Tong'an County, Fujian and a renowned general under Zheng Chenggong during the Ming Dynasty. He achieved remarkable military exploits, rising to the rank of Army Captain and first stationed his troops in Douliumen (now Douliu) to reclaim land. At that time, indigenous people were prevalent in Zhushan, so he led his troops to attack Niuzhukou (now Zhonghe Village, Zhushan), Dongpu (now Yanping Village, Zhushan), and Zhuwei Village (now Zhuwei Village, Zhushan). One day, his forces were surrounded by indigenous tribes, running out of ammunition and provisions, with over a hundred of his subordinates perishing honorably. In 1938, the Japanese, recognizing his legacy, erected a wooden monument and built a dam for future generations to pay their respects.
