Tiehsiang Alley Introduction
At the entrance of the alley in front of the Nonghui Dongyang Building, approximately 80 meters long, connects to the Zhongshan Market. After finishing their business at the agricultural association, farmers often come to the alley to buy ironware for rural living in Zhushan. The alley used to have a Wen Chang Temple, a Guanyin Pavilion, and the ancestral home of the Chen family. The Wen Chang Temple, originally a Confucian temple, has been relocated to the Kemin Temple, while the Guanyin statue has been moved to the Matsu Temple. The Datie Alley originally had three shops: Lai Fa, Ren Chun, and Xi Man. Currently, Lai Fa is still operating, and the ironworking is transforming along with the characteristics of the bamboo industry in Zhushan, producing regional ironware such as bamboo chopsticks, betel nut knives, spring bamboo shoot shovels, and banana choppers. The mold for making pig knives from back in the day is still preserved.
