National Taiwan University Xiaoping Natural Education Park Introduction
Entering this treasure trove of nature feels like stepping into a paradise! The sounds of birds, the fragrance of flowers, and the chirping of insects create a harmonious celebration of nature, filling one with happiness and beauty! The National Taiwan University Tropical Botanical Garden, also known as the Hsiaoping Arboretum, was established during the Japanese colonial period and was taken over by the NTU Experimental Forest Management Office after World War II. It is now one of the five major botanical gardens managed by the NTU Experimental Forest. The garden is home to a variety of tropical, subtropical, and warm temperate tree species, showcasing many rare tropical plants in Taiwan. Visiting in the summer, one can discover a rich variety of insects, such as scarab beetles and other beetles, along with the refreshing scents of phytoncides and the chirping of cicadas, presenting an abundance of beautiful scenery. The golden sunlight streaming through the treetops and the rustling leaves in the breeze together create a melodious symphony. This area can be explored in half a day, and there are currently no travel services or hotels available. After visiting, one can head to the sought-after summer retreat—Xitou Nature Education Area, where spending the night enjoying the symphony of fireflies and the sounds of frogs and insects is an extraordinary experience.
