NTU Xiaping Nature Education Park Introduction
Entering this treasure trove of nature feels like being in a utopia! The melodies of birds, the fragrance of flowers, and the chirping of insects create a beautiful symphony that celebrates nature, bringing happiness and joy! The National Taiwan University Tropical Botanical Garden, also known as the Xiaping Arboretum, was established during the Japanese colonial period and was managed by the NTU Experimental Forest Management Office after World War II. It is now one of the five major botanical gardens managed by the NTU Experimental Forest. The garden is home to various tropical, subtropical, and warm temperate tree species, many of which are rare tropical plants in Taiwan. Visiting in the summer, you can discover a wide variety of insects, such as stag beetles and other beetles. The abundant phytoncides, combined with the sounds of cicadas in the summer, present an extraordinary beauty. The golden sunlight filtering through the treetops and the rustling of leaves in the breeze together create the most harmonious and enchanting sonata. This garden is suitable for a half-day visit, and currently, there are no tourism facilities or hotels available. After your visit, you can head to the much-anticipated cool retreat, the Xitou Nature Education Area, where spending the night listening to the symphony of fireflies and frogs is an unforgettable experience.
