NTU Xiaoping Nature Education Park Introduction
Entering this treasure trove of nature feels like being in a paradise! The sounds of birds, fragrant flowers, and chirping insects celebrate the beauty of nature, bringing happiness and joy! The National Taiwan University Tropical Botanical Garden, also known as the Hsiaoping Arboretum, was established during the Japanese colonial period. After World War II, it was managed by the National Taiwan University Experimental Forest Management Office and is now one of the five major botanical gardens under its jurisdiction. The garden features a diverse collection of tropical, subtropical, and warm temperate tree species, showcasing some of Taiwan's rare tropical plants. Visiting in the summer, one can observe a variety of insects, such as scarab beetles and other beetles, amidst the abundant phytoncides that accompany the sound of cicadas during this season, revealing breathtaking scenery everywhere. The golden sunlight filtering through the treetops, combined with the rustling of leaves in the breeze, creates a harmonious and enchanting symphony. This garden is perfect for a half-day visit, and there are currently no tour or hotel services available. After exploring the garden, one can head to the much-admired summer retreat—Xitou Nature Education Area, where spending the night among the fireflies and listening to the symphony of frogs and insects is an extraordinary experience.
