Henglu Old Trail - Bantian Bridge Introduction
The Henglu Ancient Trail was the only passageway for the early inhabitants of Henglu to travel to the Xiaobantian village. Initially, it was constructed using bamboo to form an arch bridge, but it was destroyed by the 87 Flood, which widened the riverbanks, making it impossible to rebuild the arch bridge. The following year, the government funded the construction of a cable suspension bridge, which was also damaged by the immense force brought by Typhoon Tzuchiao, making it impassable. In 2007, the county government invested ten million dollars to build a new suspension bridge, named Bantian Bridge, which integrates with the Xiaobantian leisure agriculture area, creating a new tourist route.
