Henglu Ancient Trail - Bantian Bridge Introduction
The Henglu Ancient Trail was the only passage for early residents of Henglu to travel to and from Xiaobantian village. Initially, it was built with bamboo to create an arched bridge; however, it was destroyed during the 1987 flood, which also widened the riverbank, making it impossible to construct the arched bridge again. The following year, the government invested in a steel cable suspension bridge, but it was damaged by the powerful winds of Typhoon Taisan, rendering it impassable. In 2007, the county government allocated millions to build a new suspension bridge, named Bantian Bridge, which connects to the Xiaobantian Leisure Agricultural Area, creating a new sightseeing route.
