Henglu Ancient Trail - Bantian Bridge Introduction
The Henglu Ancient Trail was the only passageway for early residents of Henglu to travel to the Xiaobantian village. It was initially built with bamboo to create an arch bridge; however, it was destroyed by the 87 Floods, which widened the riverbanks and made it impossible to reconstruct the arch bridge. The following year, the government invested in a cable suspension bridge, but it was also damaged by the powerful Typhoon Taisan, rendering it impassable. In 2007, the county government allocated funds to build a new suspension bridge, named Bantian Bridge, which integrates the Xiaobantian leisure agricultural area, creating a new tourist route.
