My Home - Puppet Cultural and Creative Park Introduction
Traditional national essence, intricately showcased. Master Xu Yanqing, who has a long-standing background in puppet head carving, has established a puppet creative park, founded by his descendants, which collects famous glove puppet theater characters. Classic characters include Shiyanwen, Su Huanchen, and the Black and White Lords, allowing everyone to closely appreciate the beauty and details of the puppets. Glove puppet theater has been deeply rooted in Taiwan for a century and is a representative aspect of local culture. The spectacular glove puppet performances owe much to the exquisite craftsmanship of puppet carving. Master Xu Yanqing began his journey in glove puppet carving in the 1950s and created classic glove puppet characters that became popular throughout Taiwan, such as Shiyanwen, the Mirror Hidden Person, the Black and White Lords, Liu San, the Strange Old Man, and Erchi. Master Yanqing's descendants have also inherited this craft, which has now been passed down to the third generation.
