Ours Puppet Cultural and Creative Park Introduction

Traditional national essence, intricately displayed. Master Xu Yanqing, who comes from a long lineage of puppet head carving, established a creative puppet cultural park with his descendants that houses famous hand puppet theater characters, such as Shiyanwen, Suhuanzhen, and Heibailangjun, allowing everyone to get a close look at the beauty and details of the puppets. Hand puppet theater has been deeply rooted in Taiwan for a century and is a representative local culture. The impressive performances of hand puppet theater are undoubtedly supported by the skilled carving and production of the puppets. Master Xu Yanqing began his involvement in hand puppet carving in the 1950s and created iconic characters that became popular throughout Taiwan, including Shiyanwen, Cangjingren, Heibailangjun, Liu San, Guailaoci, and Erzhi. Master Yanqing's descendants have also inherited this craft, which has now reached the third generation.
