Our Home - Puppet Cultural and Creative Park Introduction
Traditional national essence is intricately showcased. Master Xu Yanqing, who hails from a family with a long history of puppet head carving, has his descendants establish a creative park dedicated to puppet arts, which houses famous Peking opera puppet characters such as Shi Yanwen, Su Huanchen, and Heibai Langjun, allowing everyone to closely appreciate the beauty and details of the puppets. Puppetry has deeply rooted itself in Taiwan for a century, representing a significant aspect of local culture. The splendid performances of traditional puppet shows owe much to the craftsmanship involved in carving the puppets. Master Xu Yanqing began his journey in puppet carving in the 1950s and has created iconic puppets that captivated audiences all over Taiwan, including well-known characters like Shi Yanwen, Cangjingren, Heibai Langjun, Liu San, Guai Lao Zi, and Erzhi. His descendants have also continued this craft, which has now reached the third generation.
