In the face of a serious ecological crisis due to the invasion of the alien plant species, Mikania micrantha, the already abandoned Zhanghu Elementary School has transformed its crisis into an opportunity, giving birth to an ecological indigo dyeing initiative. With the efforts of Huwei University of Science and Technology and a group of indigo dyeing experts, they successfully launched an indigo dyeing DIY service, turning the school into a handmade indigo dyeing workshop that promotes ecological awareness and features unique characteristics.

Turning crisis into opportunity, the ecological indigo dyeing was born at the now-abandoned Zhanghu Elementary School.
